The Deliciously Dark Escape by Trolli

Problem: Trolli wanted to reach new markets in a unique way. The candy brand was growing with younger demographics, but the brand didn’t have a voice to reach this new audience.
Solution: After lots of strategy we found that Trolli candy skews higher within the gamer community so we came up with The Deliciously Dark Escape. The DDE is retro inspired online video game hosted on the dark web only accessible by scanning a pack of Trolli. By partnering with Play Station we were able to give our fan base great prizes for competing each level and helping the worms escape from the dark web.
Results: Trolli was the first brand to launch a campaign on the dark web. Within a few days we had 30.3K unique users with an average gameplay time of 10:02 seconds (the time allowed to play a level). These are pretty impressive stats given that users could not search to play the game and had to purchase a pack to interact.
